Dot is a new fragrance from the Marc Jacobs collection that he insists on calling “his girls” (since 2007 when Daisy was released; and Lola in 2009). It will be coming to retail this summer and is said to smell like coconut water and dragon fruit.

“We keep calling them sisters. Lola is Daisy’s sister, and now Dot is their sister. There’s beginning to be a sort of vocabulary [within the fragrance collection]; even within the variety, there’s a similar handwriting — something that just feels like us.”

Celebrity stylist, fashion icon, and most recently named exclusive stylist for Kate Spade New York, Brad Goreski, has been making a serious splash in the fashion industry with a reality show of his own, Its a Brad Brad World, and the release of his book, Born to Be Brad.

“Life hasn’t been all bow ties and glasses. It’s been glamorous but also rough at times.”

….

Goreski comes from small town Port Perry, Ontario, Canada, and proves dreams really do come true. Internships at W Magazine and American Vogue landed him a coveted spot as Rachel Zoe’s assistant. After being featured on three seasons of her hit reality series, The Rachel Zoe Project, Goreski decided to branched out on his own and is now styling a-list celebs like Jessica Alba and Demi Moore.……

His reality show, It’s a Brad Brad World, showcases his whirlwind life as a celebrity stylist, but if you’re looking for a more personal side to Brad, check out his new book, Born to Be Brad. It gives a heartfelt, behind-the-scenes story of what it takes (and took) to make it to the top. Of his first book, Goreski has said, “I hope that Born to be Brad will inspire others to pursue their dreams, because to make dreams come true we have to listen to our hearts and not be afraid to fail.”

The Christian Dior Museum, which is located in Granville on the Normandy Coast where the designer spent his childhood, will soon be the location of a new exhibition. Running May to September, it will showcase all of the famous iconic stars that have worn Dior, not only on the red carpet, but also in their everyday life.

The ground floor is dedicated to those who wore his clothing in their daily life, mainly consisting of the many garments created for Marlene Dietrich (who lived in Dior). The second floor displays Christian Dior’s work as a costume designer, with much collaboration with the world of cinema. The top floor will be pouring out the top red-carpet designs from the house of Dior, from Elizabeth Taylor to Penelope Cruz, also the most recent high collar gold gown, Charlize Theron wore in the recent Dior Ads.

“Stars in Dior” is set to be released to the US in September. The book will be published in both French and English and will showcase all pieces from the Museum.

Last night we visited Muttonhead’s Traveling Market featuring sweet home Canadiana apparel and accessories.

The Hunt Club on College was revamped literally overnight to house the Market that runs until April 22nd. Each day will bring a new tasting or installation to the pop up shop. Opening night had us shooting the breeze over Flying Monkey brews. We were especially excited to see our friends Noelle & Alex from The Leather Atelier and scoop up a pair of $3 friendship bracelets by Woven Joy. With local products ranging from clothing and accessories to food and furniture, there’s something for everyone to discover.

Wondering what’s hot for your eardrums this month? No worries, we’ve got your back. The April Mix starts off with Jay Electronica, Jay-Z’s self-signed protégé whose album is one of the most anticipated in hip-hop today. Next, the GOOD Music crew finally released a track off the upcoming album and bro, it does not disappoint. “Schism of the Mind” comes to us from London-based New Build, the brainchild of Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem members, and Shlohmo and RL Grime team up for a gorgeous remix of “The Way U Do”. Ripped from the beat he did for a bangin’ Big K.R.I.T. track, everyone’s favourite producer Clams Casino recently released “Moon and Stars” “for the warmer weather,” according to an accompanying tweet, and we really can’t argue with that. Kanye West broke out his rarely-seen beastmode on “Theraflu”, while Maria Minerva slows things down and reminds us why spring time is love time. The BadBadNotGood, Daedelus, and Jai Paul tracks are each breathtaking, and Twin Sister’s sparkly wonder “Meet The Frownies” was sampled in Kendrick Lamar’s Scoop DeVille-produced stunner The Recipe, featuring Dr. Dre. Mess Kid and Azealia Banks keep you intoxicated and dancing, Beach House enchants once again with “Myth”, and Danny Brown provides the perfect soundtrack for barbecues, blunts, and not giving a fuck. Finally, everyone’s favourite French Canadian temptress Jessica Pare finishes off the mix with the three most talked about words of the past couple weeks. We hope this April is one for the books, dear readers!
