This week’s news has a lot to do with age—from models who are too young to be working to fashion’s old timers who have left us. While it can be easy to forget that not everyone in fashion is between the charmed ages of 21–35 (or at least look it), we can learn a lot from the stories of others. The most interesting thing I learned this week? There are still good celebrity moms out there, and there are women in the 90s who still sleep in until 2 p.m.

I love Alber Elbaz, but I wasn’t such a fan of the muted, scaled-back glamour of his Spring 2012 collection. I far preferred the choices he made in the Fall 2011 show, the models looks like Hailee Steinfeld’s Mattie Ross in True Grit, all grown up and a total babe. [...]
